+86-15522676451A water well project in Peru required large-diameter PVC well casing pipes in 315 mm, 250 mm and 225 mm for groundwater extraction.
The project area was located in a relatively dry region where surface water resources are limited and groundwater is an important source for local water supply and agricultural use. The drilling site had a mixed geological structure, with loose soil and sandy layers in the upper section and more compact formations at greater depth.
Under these conditions, maintaining borehole stability during drilling and casing installation was an important consideration.
To match the stepped borehole design, different PVC casing diameters were used in different well sections:
The stepped diameter design helped balance borehole stability, installation efficiency and material cost.
PVC well casing was selected because the groundwater environment required good corrosion resistance and long-term durability.
Compared with steel casing, PVC does not rust and is easier to transport and install, which is particularly useful for drilling sites where access and lifting equipment may be limited.
For this project, the final pipe diameter and wall thickness were selected according to the well depth, geological conditions, borehole diameter and pump size, rather than using one pipe size throughout the entire well.
